People, PLEASE!
Since the Dietary Supplement Health and Safety Act was enacted back in the ’90s, just about everybody and every company that promotes dietary supplements has been attempting to find a “side-door” through which they can sneak in illegal and misleading claims about their product preventing, treating or/and curing diseases. Hopefully, by the end of this article you will understand that dietary supplements don’t do that, and that you will have grown to appreciate that greater function which they may perform–provide support to the structures and functions of the body to the degree that the body’s natural, innate immune systems prevent the body from being susceptible to diseases–ALL diseases.
Further, my hope is that you will understand that claims of “diagnose, prevent, treat or cure” are completely meaningless with respect to your health, and you should strictly avoid anything that makes claims, legal or illegal; proven or conjecture. Such claims have nothing to do with health–they have only to do with disease, and disease is to be avoided, not managed.
When we engage our rational minds on the subject of “health care,” the solutions become quite obvious. I believe that most of us have allowed our minds to become befuddled by the “pill for every ill” mis-information campaigns. I have found that a simple comparison to another situation will help most people crystallize their thinking. Consider the following scenario:
———————————–
You are a rancher with, let’s say, 40 acres of fenced pasture for your cattle and horses. Your greatest difficulty is that, every day, a large number of your livestock get out of the fenced area and wander off into the surrounding woods. You then must go round them up and herd them back into the fenced area.
This reaches a point where it is all that you have time to do, and every day your herd gets smaller as a result of not finding them all. You begin to think of possible solutions to the problem:
- You buy the best running shoes on the market so that you can run faster.
- You hire some neighboring teenagers to help you.
- You get GPS tracking devices for each animal, and have them injected under their skin.
- You buy ATV 4-wheelers for rounding them up.
- You invite all the neighbors over for a barbecue so that you can enlist their help in spotting them as they disburse all across the land.
At the barbecue, one of the old-timers wanders around for a while, taking stock of the situation. Finally, he walks up to you and suggests:
“Well, Sonny–I’m a-thinkin’ ya-all aught to just close yer gate.”
———————————–
Now, if you are thinking that this is an over-simplification that doesn’t apply to “diagnose, prevent, treat and cure,” please consider the following:
- Every body comes fully equipped with all the structures and functions needed to establish and maintain a perfectly healthy body. All that may be missing are the nutrients (vitamins, minerals, phytochemicals), clean water and essential oils (omega-3 fatty acids) to keep everything operating properly.
- No sickness or disease can survive in a perfectly healthy body. A perfectly healthy body, with all the structures and functions operating optimally, is a very inhospitable environment for pathogenic and parasitic organisms. Not only are they under constant attack by our immune defenses, there is little for them to eat. Healthy, alkaline cells are not food for them–only distressed and dieing, overly-acidic, under-nourished cells will support their life.
The way for you to “CLOSE YOUR GATE” to sickness and disease is:
- Drink plenty of clean WATER every day. This does NOT include coffee, tea, soda pop, cocoa, milk, etc. For every 8 oz. of these that you drink, add another 16 to 24 oz. of water to your daily intake to help flush out the crud that they deposit in your body.
- Eat mostly nutritiously positive, alkaline-ash foods. The largest part of your diet should be leafy dark greens, like spinach, kale, parsley, the dark lettuces, romaine, beet greens, collards, etc. Meats and grains should add to less than 20% of your food intake. Wheat should be avoided completely, unless it has been sprouted to 3/4″ sprouts or more. Dairy products should be minimal–mostly used as a condiment for raw, leafy green salads.
- Eat oil-rich foods such as avocados, flax seeds, walnuts, pumpkin seeds and cold water fish like salmon.
- Take good, high-quality general and specific supplements each day to fill the voids left by poor agricultural practices and imbalanced eating. There are many good general supplements on the market. My personal favorite is Dynamite® for Adults and Children. For specific structural and functional support, I am certain to take either BiAloe® or AloeFerrin 4™, or both each and every day for immune systems support, stomach health, glucose balance and endocrine system support.
- Think healthy. Convert all of your fears and worry about health into mental pictures of what it will be like when you are perfectly healthy.
Continue to study actual nutrition and it’s effect on the body. Never rely on information provided by an association dedicated to promoting it, like the American Dairy Association would be a terrible source for information about the effects of dairy products on your body. Government studies are equally unreliable, given that they usually source from very biased studies.
Just remember that anything that “diagnoses, treats, prevents or cures disease” is a DRUG. Some of the best advice ever put out into the world today is:
“Just Say NO to Drugs!”
